Patch doesn't help long term. Flyers are building long term. Doesn't make any sense for the Flyers. I'd be pretty angry if that was a move we made

No way. Best contract in hockey and consistent 65 pt guy. Need more than a prospect who is highly regarded, but having a difficult time cracking a weak Flyers D corps. Imo, anyways.

Pass. Sanheim is likely w/in range of Sergachev as a prospect. Not as high just yet, but might be closer than many think. Add to that, Flyers arc doesn't match w/ taking on '07 draft plyr like Pacioretty.

They need more scoring, but this type of move is just a S-T fix that goes against the grain of Hextall's current build. More of a holmgren-type move.

Make zero sense for either team.

Habs in win now mode, giving away their best offensive player and Flyers building a solid young team dealing for a vet who is not exactly known around the league as a character guy.

No worries about a dif of opinion, but he's 21 and has had good numbers so far, but he has to show he is ready this summer for the Flyers. So far he hasn't really shown himself to be a sure thing worthy of a first line, 35 goal winger.

A 28 year old 35 goal scorer for a maybe NHL second pair defender? Sure. I'll go poop unicorns, give me a minute.

Ron Hextall will not even consider trades of this nature (at least not until such a time when he feels the team is one player away from being a prime Cup contender). He is all about adding prospects and picks, not subtracting them in trades for players in their late 20s.

Everything he has done as Flyers GM has been consistent with this oft-stated strategy.
It isn't about to change.

The Flyers are high on Oskar Lindblom and there are power forward types they like (such as Wade Allison) in the pipeline projected to be ready in the next few seasons.

A Sanheim for Pacioretty deal isn't happening, nor has it likely even been discussed in earnest. It's also not the right fit for the Habs to be enoigh to move Pacioretty right now.

Haha what? You would be angry if you picked up patches for a mid pick and prospect? This is such a retarded potential deal I would think it is completely made up by an idiot... oh ya

As I mentioned to the Habs comments on my first official article, I can be a bit ignorant sometimes.

Sanheim is not having a difficult time cracking the Flyers defense. Hextall and the Flyers are being patient with Sanheim and developing his all around game.

It's just dumb from a flyer perspective. Not because the trade is off balance but because of where the flyers are at. The guy is a ufa in 2 years. Why trade a nice prospect they've spent time developing when they're not ready to win now anyway? Makes no sense

First of all, any Flyer fan that wouldn't pull the trigger on this deal in a heartbeat is a complete and utter moron.

Pacioretty may not be a character guy, I will give you that...but somehow you dorks are acting like 28 is over the hill. I agree, the game has hanged because of the cap, but until a few seasons ago 26-32 was seen as a players 'peak years'. They could make this trade and then flip him somewhere else and get WAY more than a middling prospect and a third rounder. Unreal.

I get it....most of you play fantasy in keeper leaves where there is a major bias against guys 30 and older....right? That must be it.

There is zero to discuss here....no way any team with Pacioretty would make this move.

IMHO this is insane.
You don't trade a prospect like Sanheim and a draft pick. That is too high a price for a one player return. If the Flyers were getting a 1st and Pacioretty...I might not bristle so much. But again, this feels like someone in Montreal is floating rumors to see if anyone bites.
